Overseer Limited Achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification

Overseer Limited has been assessed and registered as conforming to the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for our Information Security Management System (ISMS).

This certification reflects our commitment to maintaining robust information security practices across our organisation – protecting the data entrusted to us by farmers, industry partners, researchers and others.

Why this matters

Overseer operates at the intersection of science, technology and farm-level decision-making.
Our work depends on:

  • Trusted scientific modelling
  • Transparent governance
  • Responsible management of farm and environmental data

Overseer Limited Chief Technology Officer Mark-John Bruwer explains, “as we presented at the 2026 FLRC Conference in our paper on trust and transparency in agricultural modelling, strong governance is fundamental to the credibility of the Overseer model and the decisions that rely on it”.

“Our approach to science and software development follows a defined governance framework, including independent review and formal assurance processes. Achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification extends that same discipline and rigour to information security”.

“Our team have worked hard to achieve this certification, and to put in place the procedures to ensure we continue to exceed the compliance requirements, we’re also grateful to the teams at Sprinto and Atom Assurances for their help in getting us to this point”.

What ISO/IEC 27001:2022 means

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is an internationally recognised standard for information security management systems. Certification confirms that:

  • Information security risks are systematically identified and managed
  • Policies, processes and controls are independently audited
  • Continuous improvement is embedded in the system

For Overseer customers and stakeholders, this provides added assurance that:

  • Our systems and processes meet recognised international benchmarks
  • Sensitive farm and enterprise data is protected
  • Security risks are proactively managed

Part of our broader commitment

Overseer’s brand direction centres on credibility, validation and confidence in the future of the New Zealand agricultural sector.

Achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is another practical step in delivering on that commitment.
